This weekend I partied in Broad Ripple.
My band played, other bands played -
like Works Cited and Vacation Club .
I like the town, and the people were friendly,
even though I was wearing a sweater vest.

I stretched a koan across my forehead.
There were flames inside my ears and mouth.
It’s a thought problem. It’s a problem.
I burn for the cause, not for the effect,
and hope children draw birds in my ashes.
I should be seeing this song played live in about an hour and a half…

I won fifteen dollars in poker tonight.
